A Few Small Edits

A Dutch Evangelical organization has taken it upon themselves to edit a documentary presented by David Attenborough where he is discussing Evolution.  In addition to some edits to remove references to the term “millions of years”, they decided to remove the entire episode about Apes and Humans.  This edited version was then presented as a BBC documentary to the Dutch public.

Now, it appears to me, that these Evangelical groups must have evolved to a different species since they can apparently talk out of both sides of their mouths…

Movie Review: The Prestige

I’ve had this movie sitting on my desk at home for nearly 2 months, I just haven’t had a chance to watch it until now.  One reason for this is that it’s over 2 hours long and it’s just hard to find an uninterrupted block of time that long to watch a movie.  But, I have more interesting movies in my Netflix queue that I’ve been itching to watch, so I finally made the time and sat down for what I hoped would be a good story.

Keep Them Separated

The Supreme Court of the United States opened Monday with some noteworthy news.  They declined to review two cases involving challenges to the separation of Church and State.  Keep in mind this is just 2 cases out of hundreds they declined to review, but it’s a good sign for upholding the Constitution and keeping the separation between Church and State…for now…

The Perfect TV: A Blast from the Past

I decided to try another trip to a higher end TV store to look at a couple of models, the Samsung 5689S LED based DLP and the Panasonic and Pioneer plasma TV’s.  I’m interested in the LED based DLP’s since they get rid of the spinning color wheel and the arc lamp in traditional DLP’s.  Supposedly the LED’s will last for the life of the set whereas the arc lamp lasts for about 2 years before needing to be replaced at a cost of up to $350.  When I walk into the store I am immediately accosted by a sales guy who looks vaguely familiar….
